So it all depends on whether we are talking about a game that is regularly updated and patched, or one that is stable and has probably had its last patch released some time ago. This will not happen with a CD image, which retains the executable in its original form. If you replace your exe with a nocd version, the patch will fail to identify the target executable file, and refuse to install. The CD in its entirety is on your hard drive already, so there are no advantages to be had from a full install.Having said that, the real advantage from mounting Cds is to be had with games that are frequently patched and/or updated.
